ENFIELD — The Enfield Loaves and Fishes and Enfield Food Shelf are working together to launch a new program to fill a gap between the end of traditional summer lunch programs and the beginning of the school year lunch programs.
Called “lunch link,” the new optional program for school-aged children will provide a free meal during the two gap weeks when other free lunch programs in Enfield have ended.
Enfield Loaves and Fishes staff and volunteers will assemble bagged lunches, consisting of a sandwich, fruit, snack, and beverage. Distribution will take place at Enfield Food Shelf, 786 Enfield St., on Tuesdays, Aug. 16 and 23, and Fridays, Aug. 19 and 26.
